The Creative Spirit Moves of its Own Accord

Over the years I have developed different styles of painting.  These range from realism to abstraction and symbolism.  I know, I know, for an artist to be recognized one must select a style and stick with it for the duration of their life.  That is the standard for galleries and collectors.  I just can't do it! I am a creative person and am inspired and driven to create in different ways.  What I do try to do, is focus on one style at a time and give it my full attention, often for years.  Currently, I am working with oil paints and focusing on developing my landscape painting skills.  There is so much to learn in this field, and I am having a great time diving in.  But my watercolor paintings and even my abstractions are still a part of me.  I am not committed to one style, but I am committed to being creative and giving everything I have to my paintings.  I make one painting at a time using old world tried and true procedures.  They are meant to last generations, inspiring others both visually and intellectually.
