Painted at the height of the coronavirus, "Crazy Times" just felt like the right title. I think we can all relate to the feeling expressed in this painting. In addition to the all the daily news briefings and anxiety that brought on, I was also trying to teach my students and to finish up the school year. I think the red marks on this paitnting feel like the marks on a graded paper. There is a chaotic sense to the entire image, but as you eyes linger, you are drawn in to tiny details and scratches that add to the complexity of the piece. This painting would be perfect for any contemporay or mid-century modern decor.
